Mike Kalscheur is a Partner with Creative Planning and serves as a Wealth Manager, working directly with clients to develop customized financial plans to address their goals and complex financial needs. Michael specializes in the areas of retirement planning, investment management, tax planning, estate planning, business valuation & transition planning, risk management, and charitable planning.
Mike’s son Alex sustained a spinal cord injury during a fall in 2017. As a patient at NeuroHope, Alex made great strides in his recovery. The Kalscheur family is passionate about NeuroHope’s mission of making affordable access to healthcare a reality.
Peter Kamwendo is the Director of Indiana University Health Home Health. In his role, Peter has operational oversight over the IU Health Hospital at Home program, as well as the Remote Patient Monitoring and Home Care Triage programs.
Stephanie Kelly, PhD, DPT is the Dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Indianapolis, which oversees the Krannert School of Physical Therapy, the School of Occupational Therapy, and departments of Kinesiology and Athletic Training. Her background as a physical therapist includes specializing in the rehabilitation of individuals with stroke, brain injury and amputations. Dr. Kelly received her M.S. in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis, and earned her PhD from Nova Southeastern University.
Chris Leeuw is the Founder of NeuroHope, and serves as the clinic’s Executive Director. Prior to his spinal cord injury and recovery, Chris worked in television news at stations in Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne, and Ft. Myers FL in both production and as an on-air reporter. He also served at Indianapolis-based hc1.com, a CRM specialized for healthcare providers.
Chris was named one of the Indianapolis Business Journal‘s “Forty Under 40” in 2016, named Indy’s “Best and Brightest” in Healthcare by JA of Central Indiana in 2020, and is a 2023 Fellow of the Tobias Leadership Program at IU.
He is a graduate of Indiana University, earned his Masters Degree from the University of Miami (FL) and his MBA in Healthcare Management from WGU Indiana.
Allison Leeuw serves as Research Manager within the Office of Fiscal and Management Analysis, a division of the Legislative Services Agency at the Indiana General Assembly. With a background in economic and fiscal data analysis, she has served in a variety of public sector management and director roles. Her experiences in non-profit management, workforce development, fiscal analysis, and revenue consulting in the private and public sectors led her to serve as a Founding Member of the NeuroHope Board of Directors. She also volunteers her time to manage NeuroHope’s accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting. Allison earned a Master of Public Administration degree from the Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
Sachin Mehta is a board-certified Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physician, practicing with the Franciscan Health Network since 2009. Dr. Mehta holds memberships with the International Brain Injury Association, the American Association of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the Association of Academic Physiatrists, and the American Medical Association. He is also an Executive Board Member of the Brain Injury Association of Indiana, and sits on the Indiana Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Board. He is a graduate of Lehigh University and the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Sandy Porter, MD is an anesthesiologist who has practiced most recently at OrthoIndy and previously at Northside Anesthesia Services in Indianapolis. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Butler University and her medical degree from Indiana University. She is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Indiana Society of Anesthesiologists.
Drew Poston is the VP of Business Development at Compass Construction. Utilizing his longstanding relationships within the real estate brokerage and ownership community, Drew facilitates client satisfaction on every project.
Drew earned his B.S. in organizational leadership from Purdue Universuity. As an active member of the community, Drew has also served as a board member of BarnRaisers of Indiana and the Indianapolis Zoo Associate Council.
Rob Shaw is a FINRA Series 7 Registered Representative and an Accredited Investment Fiduciary. He is a partner at Langdon Shaw Associates, Inc., an independent financial planning firm formed in 1983 whose focus lies on helping individuals to plan and invest for their retirement and beyond, as well as working with small business owners to create and maintain retirement plans for their business and employees. Rob is an Indiana University graduate, and has worked closely with NeuroHope as a board member since 2014.
Kurt Suppiger is a Registered Architect with over 30 years of Architectural Design & Planning experience, with primary focus in the field of Healthcare Facility Planning, Design and Construction. In his previous position as Facility Architect and Project Manager for Indiana’s Community Health Network, Kurt acquired comprehensive expertise in bringing together all aspects of healthcare operations. In 2015, Kurt sustained a spinal cord injury which resulted in a significant adjustment in his daily life. Kurt now focuses full-time on his recovery from paralysis, which includes physical therapy and wellness at the NeuroHope clinic. Kurt also actively participates in vocational rehabilitative services through the State of Indiana. Kurt’s unique perspective on recovery from paralysis is gained from his participation in multiple types of rehabilitative services, including 4 different Inpatient Programs (2 in-state and 2 out-of-state), several Outpatient Programs, including participation in Locomotor Training through the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation’s Neuro Recovery Network (NRN). Kurt is a Ball State University graduate and received his Architectural and Environmental Design degree from Ball State’s College of Architecture and Planning.
Jenny Vance is an entrepreneur and a revenue and go-to-market expert in technology. She founded LeadJen, a lead generation company, which she grew to nearly 75 employees serving hundreds of companies across the United States. She is also a co-founder and a board member of Salesvue, a CRM software solution. Jenny’s unique expertise is helping business-to-business technology companies develop revenue and go-to-market strategies, including Fortune 50 clients, and early stage entrepreneurs at seed level. Jenny received her Bachelor’s degree in Economics from DePauw University, where she was a Management Fellow. She also is the founder of the Indiana chapter of The American Association of Inside Sales Professionals (AA-ISP) and is an active member of the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Angela Weber is a licensed attorney in Indiana and has held various positions throughout her career. She served as a Marion County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Indianapolis, Indiana, an Administrative Law Judge for the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission, and later as a Governor-appointed Commissioner at the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission. She also worked as an attorney for the Indianapolis law firm of Ice Miller LLP.
Angela is also a U.S. Army Veteran and served from 1996-2000 as a Russian Linguist/Voice-Intercept Operator. She was honorably discharged in 2000.
Angela earned a bachelor of arts from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana in 1996. She received her juris doctor from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in 2006.
